Eid is the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
This is a time of great celebration with family and friends--and lots of food! Many families will slaughter sheep as part of this ritual celebration.
And so, just days before Eid I went to pick out my first sheep for slaughter. Everyone shared with me some advice along the way...
First. The market. So many choices.
Best advice: Pick the fat one.
Second. Bring sheep home.
Best advice: Do not put sheep in your car. They poop. Hire sheep taxi.
Third. Slaughter.
Best advice: Don't watch. No photos.
Fourth. Celebration meal.
Best advice: Enjoy. It's quite delicious!
